- Two thin coats on the sponge, one on the blade.
- Let every coat dry completely clear. Milky means not ready — trapped moisture is a common cause of bubbles.
- Lay the sheet down from the centre and roll outwards to push air to the edges.
- Trim with a sharp blade along the edge of the wood, or with sharp scissors — curved ones are easiest.
- Between sessions, protect the topsheet with its film or another cover.
A water-based glue lets you remove a sheet later, usually without damaging the blade.
